The very first day I met Katrina to discuss her wedding photography she indicated to me she had already decided to do a ‘Trash the dress’ or ‘drown the gown’ shoot. Normally I insist that brides wait a few months to be absolutly sure this is the kind of shoot they want to do. Most times the dress can still be dry cleaned… but not always.

So after a wonderful wedding and the most memorable vows I have ever heard I got the call… “let’s do it”

We choose a few locations that would give Katrina the look she was after and after some careful planning and a glass of champagne we set out to ‘Trash her dress’

The weather was average, showers on and off, but it didn’t really have a major influence. It was a brilliant shoot (if I say so myself) and Katrina was a super star. I was not very warm (actually freezing) but Katrina trusted me and did everything I asked. I love the results.

PS No bride was harmed in the making of these images… the dress will be ok too.

Sorry guys. The season has started.

This arrived in the post today. Yes it is the first time a Father of the Bride has written to me. (which makes it very special)
Awards are recognition from my peers in the photographic industry that I can produce a nice image. Letters like this are recognition that I achieved my goal of not just producing one great image but instead many great images, and the way I went about my work was appreciated. I love my job.

Tomorrow is the last wedding for me for the year. Like every wedding I will put my heart and soul into my day’s work and then I will go home absolutly shattered. The nice part is that I then have 17 days of time with my family. South Island west coast watch out. Is it too late to ask Speights for sponsorship?

To all of my wonderful clients, Merry Merry Xmas and a happy and safe New Year.

1st resolution: Blog more
2nd resolution: Loose 10 kilos
3rd resolution: Don’t worry too much about resolutions 1 & 2

We are back in the office on the 12th Jan.
If any booked clients need me 0275 325 254
If you would like to book please hang in there guys… call us on the 12th.
While we can’t see you till then please remember nobody else can either. The dates we are available won’t change.

Lots of love & Hugs
Chris

So Sunday was the first of the Spring shows and what a great show it was. It was the official release of the all new photo booth and it just went off. We had 296 groups through the Little Black Photobooth. I’m not sure of the official numbers through the show but I would say it was a great result for us. Thank you to Lisa and her hard working team. From the bookings this week so far it has already been a great show for us and hopefully for all who visited. I always think wedding shows represent the largest collection of miserable looking men in Auckland on any day they are on but I have to say I think the guys seemed to get a lot out of this show. Even if it was just brownie points. (They don’t last long guys, trust me)

Thank you to all who have already booked since the show. If you haven’t yet and have any questions please feel free to call us on (09) 527 8111 or (09) 527 3387.

We are just talking with interested people throughout the country and will be expanding outside of Auckland in the next few weeks. I’ll keep you posted. If you are in other parts of the country and are interested in hiring a Little Black Photobooth for your wedding call us now. We will reserve the date for you and you will be first in the queue when a local operator starts.

Oh yeah, There were some great exhibitors their this year. Real quality in all of their different fields.

The next Grand Wedding Show is on 11th April 2010.

So yesterday I found myself flicking through my wife’s Woman’s Day and was very disappointed to see my second childhood crush (the first was Vicki on the Love Boat) has just got married. Ever since “Who’s the boss” and then “Charmed” I have had a special place for Alyssa Milano. (Each to their own) What was wonderful was the photos of Alyssa and “Whatever his name was” showing off their photo booth pictures. If it’s good enough for Hollywood celebs then it’s good enough for you. Little Black Photobooth is still NZ’s only true photo booth experience. Yes you can try and make your own, but there is nothing like the real thing. Ask my wife, I just bought her GHD’s after 2 years of grief from using a cheaper version.

Well version2 of our photo booths went to the paint shop today for it’s final protective coat. We are about four days away from releasing it on the new Little Black Photobooth website. I am so excited. This has been a 6 month project with some high highs and low lows but we are nearly there. The coolest thing is our technology is world beating. We tried overseas versions but they were honestly sub standard to say the least. Some of the cheapest print quality I have ever seen. I hope NZers don’t ever become to accepting of average. I love being a new zealander. I think we should teach a class in schools that encourages our “can do” attitude.

Photos will of course follow very shortly. Bookings are just flowing in, we even have interest from Australia. For those who have booked a Little Black Photobooth for their wedding or function, Thanks guys!. It truly is the most exciting addition to weddings in New Zealand for a very long time. A world wide phenomenon yes. But we take pride in being the only true photo booth company in New Zealand.

Hang in there for the photos… I would love to know what you think.
